# Development

When modifying an algorithm, first pin down its input conventions and return
semantics, then implement the generator and the independent witness. When
modifying RIR, also update the format specification, the schema, and the
serialization tests.

`docs/archive/` stores historical plans, stage reports, and old guides. They
take no part in this site's build and are not entry points to the current API.
The archive lives in the English tree only, is written in Chinese, and pages
that cite archive records link to the files in the repository instead of the
built site.
